The Health and Care Act 2022 requires health and social care staff to complete autism and learning disability training. We developed this original training programme in collaboration with autistic individuals and individuals with learning disabilities. The course was developed specifically to train doctors, nurses, social workers, support workers, and other frontline staff.
FRT's Tier 2 Mandatory Autism and Learning Disabilities Training meets all requirements outlined in Section 181 of the Health and Care Act 2022. It is aligned with the statutory guidance under Regulation 18. It is fully mapped to the Core Capabilities Framework and holds an external accreditation kitemark.
While providers can choose the training solution that best fits their setting, they should be able to demonstrate that the learning outcomes are met and that the training has made a meaningful impact. The FRT Tier 2 Autism and Learning Disabilities Training meets this requirement.
