The struggle to find new staff is real, but the Home Office has modernised the immigration system allowing Skilled Workers easier access into the UK workforce. It is the duty of employers to ensure that there is effective communication in the workplace, taking into account language skills and cultural differences. Not only are language skills good for communication, but also for productivity.

Health and Social Care is one of the largest employment sectors in Great Britain. Overseas workers contribute to roughly 25% of all staff in the sector within the UK and in London it is closer to 60%. It is essential that there is good communication between staff and patients in the aid of general safety of patients and service users.

We have introduced our Language Skills courses as an additional offering to aid the development of non-native speaking employees. The primary focus will be for foreign nationals to learn British English, but there are plenty more languages to choose from.
